About the book:

Observations has come about as a result of the advances in digital printing and the exceptional quality of materials that can now be used in the production of books.

For instance, the pages of Observations are printed on 235gsm Photo Luster paper. Generally speaking, books are usually printed on 150gsm, or for the better quality productions the chosen stock will be 170gsm. To be able to use 235gsm is almost unheard of and lends a very tactile feel to the pages. Combining these materials with the latest in digital printing technology gives a result that is virtually photographic quality.

In addition the signing page of Observations, where the book is individually number and personally signed, is on 308gsm Hahnemulle Fine Art Rag and is protected by a vellum insert sheet. All superb quality materials.

By looking through the galleries of this website you will see there is plenty of material that has never graced the pages of a book. Observations has a selection of previously published images, but also a range of photographs that are favourites of mine, but never seem to be chosen for any books or magazines when clients come looking for images.

Most Limited Edition books are versions of a general release publication, but with all the bells and whistles added on. Observations has no general release, there will be 200 copies only, a true Limited Edition.
